Don’t be surprised if a Google employee approaches you in public, asks for your face to be captured, and then says thanks with a $5 Amazon or Starbucks gift card. Google is experimenting with a new way of collecting face data involving public places and gift cards. As ZDNet reports, Google is sending out “Many teams in many cities” armed with a modified smartphone and gift cards in an attempt to collect as much facial data as they can.
